a| This film tells the tragic story of Ana from Rijeka, who was committed to a psychiatric institution at the age of 16 and 'treated' for homosexuality. It asks the question, is the injustice she experienced an aberration in a system that normally works well – or is it a symptom of a more widely accepted social climate, and a metaphor for a ‘sick’ society? Above all, this is an emotional film about a girl who needs to re-establish her faith in people. After enduring five years of heavy traumas at the hospital, Ana is now free but borderline suicidal and with almost no trust in the people around her as she searches for a significant other and a love she can trust.
