a| Falusziget, which translates as 'cottage on the island', is within the village of Gabcikovo, a municipality in Slovakia that has around 5,100 inhabitants. During the Socialist era, a huge hydroelectric power plant was built there, which ultimately divided Falusziget and the village. It gradually emptied by time, and today only two aboriginals are living there permanently, the rest are cottage owners and tourists. Ravaged ranches and renovated houses are silent neighbors of one another.
