a| It is July 11, 2012, and like every year on this date people gather to 'bury' their loved ones, whose corpses were identified at a mass grave site of Srebrenica genocide of 1995. For some the burial is an intimate event, for others a collective political gathering. Umbrellas or screens are used not only protect against the burning midday sun, but also to offer protection against the gaze of others, and a way to narrow one's own field of vision. Cameras are used in a similar way: to direct the audience attention to specific scenes and also to keep the distance. Fragile intimate histories collide with public history in the effort to keep the memory alive.
