A portrait of Viera Gran, a popular Jewish singer in Poland whose career reached a peak just before World War II. The rest of her life was overshadowed by war, the Holocaust, and the ensuing political strife. Though her family survived the liquidation of the Warsaw ghetto, they were accused of collaboration after the war, and Viera had to flee to Israel and later Venezuela and France to escape the stigma of collaborator, or ‘kolaborantki’.
