- Sunakali tells the story of a Nepalese girls' football team and its journey to the national championship in the remotest district of Nepal. Mugu is an isolated district in Karnali Zone – the least developed region of Nepal where average life-expectancy is barely 50 years and female illiteracy is almost 90 percent. Against this harsh backdrop, the story of Sunakali unfolds: a girl whose passion for football helps her pursue her dream and break free from the traditional life expected of her.
