An inquiry into the numerous Kurdistan-related conflicts that spread across Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Turkey. This short documentary looks at Northern Iraq where the fighting between the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) was triggered by KDP’s deal with Saddam Hussein. Massoud Barzani, the KDP leader, and the architect of the deal, insists he would not have dealt with the Iraqi leader if the West had agreed to assist the Kurds of Iraq. The rupture between KDP and PUK is revealed in the light of the already existing threats to the Kurds, as well as the role of the Iraqi National Congress (INC) in the conflict.
