- Contents Summary
- The video contains footage shot on November 30, 1996, in the Ivory Coast capital, Abidjan, when Sierra Leone’s President, Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, and RUF leader Foday Sankoh signed a peace accord to bring an end to more than five years of civil war. The video continues with footage of Foday Sankoh training with other rebels, including children, in the bushes near Bo, the second largest city in Sierra Leone. These are believed to be among the first images of the RUF broadcast in the West. The segment ends with footage of Sierra Leonean civilians at an International Aid Center near Bo, where most of the children are malnourished.
