Srazu posle opublikovanii povesti v zapadnogermanskom zhurnale "Grani" (s 1984 goda vynuzhdennyi uekhat' na Zapad G.Vladimov glavnyi redaktor etogo zhurnala) otklik pisatelia A.Siniavskogo v parizhskom zhurnale "Kontinent". Prodolzhenie povesti chitaet Iulian Panich. Peredacha chetvertaia. Konets 50 godov, strannoe smutnoe vrnemia, zona opustela, obitatili lageria ischezli. Storozhevye sobaki i VOKhRovtsy ostalis' ne u del. Ruslan uveren, chto khoziain prognal ego vremenno, i ne perestaet ego razyskivat'. Dolgozhdannaia vstrecha s khoziainom krome unizheniia nichego ne prinesla.

- С другого берега. Вед. Н.Румянцева Цикл передач, приуроченных к 10-летию выхода на Западе повести Георгия Владимова "Верный Руслан" (история караульной собаки). Повторение серии программ 1975 года. Сразу после опубликовании повести в западногерманском журнале "Грани" (с 1984 года вынужденный уехать на Запад Г.Владимов главный редактор этого журнала) отклик писателя А.Синявского в парижском журнале "Континент". Продолжение повести читает Юлиан Панич. Передача четвёртая. Конец 50 годов, странное смутное врнемя, зона опустела, обитатили лагеря исчезли. Сторожевые собаки и ВОХРовцы остались не у дел. Руслан уверен, что хозяин прогнал его временно, и не перестаёт его разыскивать. Долгожданная встреча с хозяином кроме унижения ничего не принесла.
