From 27-29 September 1999 the Federation Commission on Missing Persons - Bosniak Side investigated a total of 15 sites and recovered or exhumed the remains of a total of 25 individuals from eleven of these sites in and around the municipality of Bosanski Novi. Reportedly these are the remanis of Bosniak civilians in the region who had been killed in 1992 through 1995 by Bosnian Serb paramilitary soldiers. According to Bosniak representatives, most of the victims were civilian men and women who were killed in the region around Bosanski Novi during hostilities between Bosniaks and Bosnian Serb paramilitary soldiers in 1992 and also victims killed by Bosnian Serb paramilitary soliders between 1993-1995.
