Ona vyshla v 1983 godu v Amerike v izdatel'stve «ARDIS» pod nazvaniem "Pis'ma. Nachalo povesti". Raisa Orlova i Lev Kopelev napisali predisllovie "Prsvetitel'nitsa". Chitaiut Natal'ia Urbanskaia i Ernst Zorin. Predislovie soderzhit vospominanie o zhizni i sud'be neobychnoi zhenshchiny. Programma pervaia. Chitaet Irina Kanevskaia. Povest' rasskazyvaet o real'nykh sobytiiakh v spetsshkole dlia maloletnikh pravonarushitelei gorodka Marks, Saratovskoi oblasti. Vremia deistviia 1973-74 god. Sobytiia opisany ot imeni novogo vospitatelia po prozvishchu Knigonosha.

- С другого берега. Ведущий Юрий Михайлов Составитель Ирина Каневская. Незавершённая повесть "О палачах и тиранах школы тюрьмы" учительницы из Саратовской области Людмилы Магон. Она умерла в 1974 году от инсульта. Книгу, в которую вошли её письма и начало повести, составили друзья писатели Раиса Орлова и Лев Копелев. Она вышла в 1983 году в Америке в издательстве «АРДИС» под названием "Письма. Начало повести". Раиса Орлова и Лев Копелев написали предислловие "Прсветительница". Читают Наталья Урбанская и Эрнст Зорин. Предисловие содержит воспоминание о жизни и судьбе необычной женщины. Программа первая. Читает Ирина Каневская. Повесть рассказывает о реальных событиях в спецшколе для малолетних правонарушителей городка Маркс, Саратовской области. Время действия 1973-74 год. События описаны от имени нового воспитателя по прозвищу Книгоноша.
