Профессор В.Турчин в СССР был одним из организаторов секции «Эмнисти Интернэшнл» Amnesty International . До своего отъезда в 1977 году он возглавлял эту секцию, теперь живёт в США и преподаёт в нью-йоркском университете. Отчего свободный доступ к информации так необходим каждому человеку. Ученый в стране социализма. Вед. Т.Вербицкая Писатель Марк Поповский рассказывает о бактериологе Владимире Хавкине, замечательном русском учёном, более известном в Индии, чем в СССР. Как и почему 120-летие учёного заитересовало КГБ. В.Хавкин, национальный герой Индии, бактериологический институт, носящий его имя, основан учёным 80 лет назад. 10:48-25:16.
