Contents/Summary

Summary
The film follows the story of a young man nicknamed Džimi. He and his girlfriend Lilica have just lost their temporary employment and, unable to find another job, they turn to stealing and cheating. Running away from some angry workers, Džimi loses Lilica in the scuffle. With the police after him, Džimi meets a bar-singer, becomes her lover and starts to sing himself in small town fairs and remote military garrisons. His new life is not bad, but he leaves for Belgrade in order to participate in the youth singing competition. Instead of presumed ovations, his old-fashioned mediocre ballad singing is booed by the audience who expect beat and rock. Disappointed, Džimi leaves Belgrade, meets Lilica again, and they decide to visit her old ex-boss and blackmail him, claiming that he made Lilica pregnant. When the boss finds out that they are lying, he starts a fight which ends tragically.
