In her latest time-lapse film Helena Třeštíková follows the films protagonist, Mallory, for 13 years. Mallory is determined to live a normal life, her journey hasn’t been easy for her but after giving birth she tries desperately to kick her drug habit, and end her life on the streets. But while this self-destructive lifestyle was her personal protest against her parents conformist generation, it is not easy to replace heroin with a steady job, a car in which you live and a neat apartment suitable for a family. The drug-inflicted wounds continue to fester Mallory’s difficult social situation, and upheavals in her personal relationships, and confrontations with the authorities often cast her back down to the bottom. But since turning her back on her dark past, she strives to help those she knows best, people on the fringes of society.
