"During the build-up to the siege of Srebrenica (1992-5) United Nations peacekeeping forces used Hasan Nuhanović as an interpreter. His employment with the Dutch Battalion meant that his personal safety was guaranteed when the town surrendered to Serb forces on 11 July 1995, but he was powerless when his family was taken away and executed together with more than 8,000 other Bosniaks."
