Contents/Summary

Summary
After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Ukraine fell into chaos. With a rise in unemployment, some Ukrainian youth turned to drugs as a way to escape poverty, depression and abuse. In the dark corners of the city, in squalid conditions, one can find these forgotten youth. Sickfuckpeople follows the stories of two young people who are near homelessness. A boy returns to his home village to search for his mother only to be met with hatred, while a girl, drug-addicted and pregnant, hopes to avoid the abortion the hospital is encouraging her to have. While facing their individual hardships, both are lost in their struggle to navigate friendship, love and loss in a clouded haze of drug addiction
