520    At-Tuwani is a small Palestinian village in the West Bank’s so-called Area C. Under constant threat of evacuation since 1999, the village is subjected to continuous attacks by Israeli settlers who live nearby.  In response to these attacks, a Popular Committee was formed in At-Tuwani. The Committee protects the village through a complex nonviolent strategy and the support of Israeli activists and international volunteers. This experiment may point the way toward a new future for Palestine.
