In 1933 Walter Christeller, cameraman at the UFA studios in Babelsberg, was forced to leave Berlin and start a new life in Palestine where he worked mainly for the Jewish National fund. 75 years later Walter’s granddaughter, student at Munich film school, searches for the legacy of her grandfather’s life and work in Israel. Walter Christeller was not just an emigrant and pioneer of the Jewish State, he also pursued and documented the regional change with his camera at close range. "Looking for Walter" is a story about the life of a German immigrant in Palestine, but also a very personal review of life in the Middle East today.
