It's a revolution you've probably never heard of. Not a shot was fired, not a single drop of blood spilled. But in the span of a few years in the 1970's, the hearts and minds of the Greenlandic people were turned upside down. The sound of Greenland's first rock band singing in their native tongue woke people up. Sumé's lyrics introduced words like 'oppression' and 'revolution' to the Greenlandic language, and inspired the political figures of the time to take Greenland's policies out of the hands of Danish politicians. Now, 40 years later, the first international feature documentary film to be produced in Greenland chronicles the uprising of the 1970's and Sumé's impact on Greenlandic history. Through present day interviews and unique archival footage, the film brings to life a story of an indigenous people's fight for their own voice and cultural identity. 580 Verzio Film Festival Submission 655 Documentary films 942 |2ddc |cHDD 260 Greenland ;Denmark ;Norway : |bÁnorâk Film, |c2014. 952 |00 |10 |2ddc |40 |70 |8FL |9126000FL |bFL |d2018-05-23 |r2018-05-23 |w2018-05-23 |yBLU-RAY |cAudio Visual 952 |00 |10 |2ddc |40 |6FL_RECORD_4143_000000000000000 |70 |8FL |9152265FL |bFL |d2021-11-04 |l0 |oFL Record 4143 |pHU_OSA_00005867.mp4 |r2021-11-04 |w2021-11-04 |yDIGIFILM |zAccess Copy, MP4 format |cAudio Visual 920 01 yov78MX7 966 True |bHU_OSA_00005867 |cDigitally Anywhere / With Registration
