Frances Pinter recalls how in the early 1990s George Soros invited her to set up and launch the Central European University Press. The interview is a recollection of the early stages of the Centre for Publishing Development at the Open Society Institute within the context of the new university, the constantly opening markets, changing economies and transitional states.
