Content and Structure

Scope and Content (Abstract)
The annual world reports reflect the general human rights situation worldwide for the respective year, while the country reports usually focus on some specific aspect of human rights violations. What is common in both is that they always formulate recommendations for national and international bodies, for governments and NGOs, aiming at stopping human rights abuses.

The thematic reports are related to special issues and worldwide campaigns HRW focuses on: from academic freedom through child soldiers and banning landmines to refugees, displaced persons, and asylum seekers.
