Scope and Content (Abstract)

The series includes the correspondence of the Mayor’s Office with private persons and organizations. Complaints and suggestions by citizens and correspondence with government officials covering all of the policy areas related to Budapest make part of the series. The correspondence gives rich details about the changes in political and civil life in Budapest in the two decades after the regime change and an insight into political agendas under the various national governments.

The material was processed based on the overwhelmingly chronologically arranged registry compiled by the Mayor’s Office. The registries are in the first boxes. In addition to the correspondence in 2004 recorded in the registry, unregistered correspondence from the same year is placed at the end of the series.
