Content and Structure

Scope and Content (Abstract)
The series contains press clippings arranged by topics related to the political situation and military and scientific issues in the divided world of the Cold War era. Compared to other similar series of the RFE/RL collection, this one is rather focused on technological, scientific and military competition between the superpowers and their allies. The topics covered the most are: astronautics, communist parties of the East and West, disarmament and military conflicts. Besides these, files related to the situation of the youth, and other miscellaneous topics are included. This series serves as a supplement for series HU OSA 300-120-3 Subject Files, which is placed in the same subfonds, but was kept and processed separately. Based on similarities in the taxonomy and the content, it is assumed that these units belong together.
Appraisal, destruction and scheduling information
