Scope and Content (Abstract)

This series comprises a selection of over 3,500 records accumulated from the proceedings of the UN Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary, arranged generally in chronological order.

It contains, on the one hand, documents on the internal operation of the Committee, such as the minutes of the closed (or rarely open) hearing sessions, including the testimonies of 111 witnesses given both anonymously and with real names; internal correspondence of the Committee's experts; memoranda and notifications concerning the collection of material and the organization of work; as well as internal material and minutes related to witness testimonies.

On the other hand, it contains documents generated in the process of issuing the reports of the Committee, including different versions, with comments, recommendations and amendments coming form Committee members and experts.
